Guide to Santorini: Places to Eat

Here is a little round up of my favourite spots to eat in Santorini. Nothing too fancy, but all fresh and delicious.

Lolita's is by far the best ice cream parlor on the island. Selling scoopfuls of heavenly homemade gelato and sorbet, it is the perfect place to seek the shade and indulge in a little treat. The cute decor is also very instagrammable.

This was the ultimate Greek street snack, so much so we pretty much had this for lunch everyday whilst in Santorini. Only costing a few euros these wraps of deliciousness are seriously packed with flavour and extremely filling.

Normally, chicken or pork, the meat is cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served in flatbread or pita which is then filled to the brim with chips, tomatoes, lettuce, onion and tzatziki sauce. Simply scrummy!

Give them a go, you wont regret it.

At the start of the pedestrian street in Oia, you can't miss this picturesque cafe. With a pretty bike leaning against the whitewashed wall and the blossoming, fuchsia flowers framing the doorway, you cant help stop and take notice.

The cafe specialises in coffee, breakfasts and cocktails. It was definitely one of my favourite places to stop first thing in the morning. Their huge bowls of Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit made for a perfect start to the day.

The views from the rooftop terrace were pretty amazing too.

If you don't want to sit in then you can takeaway freddo cappuccinos (an iced cappuccino) and freshly squeezed orange juices while you explore Oia.

V Lounge Cafe and Cocktail Bar

After our hike from Oia to Fira, we were in need of a feed. Still early in the day, we were on the look out for substantial breakfast. I had heard great things about the food and the view at V lounge and was desperate to try it out.

Luckily, it was pretty easy to find as it is located in the centre of Fira on the famous Ipapantis walkway, located above the Panorama Boutique hotel.

As we walked up to the rooftop, we were blown away by the unobstructed views out to the Aegean sea. As it was still early the place was quiet and we managed to pick prime seats right at the front. I could help but pinch myself.

The menu was lovely and varied and both me and the bf spotted things we wanted instantly. I went with the Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit while he went with the full breakfast. We both were very happy and polished everything.

The whole vibe of the place is very chilled and relaxing. The service was incredibly friendly and we didn't feel rushed while we sat and admired the breathtaking views.

How can you not fall in love with the beauty of Santorini with views like this? I only wished we had returned to see the sunset from this vantage point. There is always next time though...

Theros Wave Bar

As I mentioned in a previous post, Theros is located on Eros Beach on the Southern part of Santorini. What I didn't mention was that they do great food. After an afternoon of lounging on the beach we were famished and headed up to the terrace to see what was on offer.

As Theros is the only place for food and drink on Eros beach we thought the place would be expensive and a tourist trap. How we were so wrong.

This was my first experience of Greek salad on the island and boy was it worth the wait. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the tomatoes were unbelievably sweet (this coming from someone who detests tomatoes). As the bf had been adventurous all week in ordering Greek food he thought he would be naughty and have the burger, believe me there was major food envy! The food was delicious and cheap, topped off by amazing views.

We had such a lovely afternoon well here and managed to find plenty plenty of little relaxing corners, where we nursed our food comas.

Are you been to any of these places and what did you think?
