The Brunch Edit: Sophies at The Dean Hotel

I had only heard of Sophie's up until recently, I must have been hiding under a rock, as this place is the top place to visit if you want to impress and come away with full bellies. Hidden on the top floor of the Dean Hotel lies a truly unique glasshouse restaurant boasting 360° views of Dublin.

As soon as you step out of the elevator you are greeted by swings suspended from the ceiling. A fun little photo opportunity I can imagine after having a few drinks.

On one side of the restaurant you will find an amazing outdoor terrace, perfect for summer drinks, and as the sun goes down there are blankets and heaters to keep you toasty.

As you enter the restaurant you are greeted to incredible views of Dublin City, the Wicklow Mountains and out to the Irish Sea. The space is bright and impressive with exposed wooden beams, brick walls and cosy booths lending itself to a very New York style aesthetic. A feature bar dominates the centre of the restaurant and works as the hub of the restaurant creating a bustling, energetic atmosphere.

On this occasion I managed to drag the bf into the city with the promise he would get breakfast. Boy, did Sophie's bring its 'A' game, as usual the bf went with the Irish breakfast (€11.95) and was very happy when he clapped eyes on the size of the plate (definitely for those looking for a big feed). Needless to say I didn't hear a word from him for the duration of the meal.

I chose the Eggs Benedict (€9.95) and it was just what I needed. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise, smooth and creamy. The fresh fruit salad was a lovely addition and the coffees went down a treat.

Overall this place has it all- the views, decor, service and food were all fab.

If you haven't been to Sophie's before, then its definitively a must try.

  1. I can grow professionally, but compare hotel costs. I like rate; it really works just like a Meta look for resorts. You need to simply enter your required location or hotel; select dates and filter for the choice and also you get a bunch of is a result of various booking sites
