The Brunch Edit: Farmer Browns, Bath Avenue

Autumn has truly arrived in Ireland this week, temperatures have dropped and bad weather has been non stop so the only thing that could cheer me up on a cold, rainy Saturday was the thought of brunch at Farmer Brown's. Every time I've visited it has been jam packed, with queues out of the door and this time was no exception, thankfully luck was on my side and we managed to grab a table.

5 Things I've learnt as a Solo Traveller

I'm currently in the midst of booking a few days away on my own and I CAN NOT WAIT! When I told colleagues, I found it funny how surprised they were that I wanted to go alone. The thing is, some of the best adventures I've had have been whilst travelling alone, spending most of my twenties visiting some amazing destinations. I highly recommend doing this once in your lifetime so here are a few things I have learnt along the way.

The Brunch Edit: Mayfield Deli & Restaurant

The Mayfield Deli & Restaurant was one of the first restaurants I visited when I arrived in Dublin three years ago. Living in Terenure at the time, it was only a 10 minute walk away and it was here where I instantly fell in love with the eating trend that is brunch.

Afternoon Tea: The Pudding Pantry, Nottingham

Since moving to Ireland three years ago, I make a conscious effort to head home regularly. To be honest I have no excuse as the flights are cheap and the time to get to Nottingham is probably a shorter journey then visiting some places in Ireland. As it was the weekend before my birthday (sorry to keep banging on about it) my sister wanted to take me for afternoon tea and celebrate with eating all the cake...who was I to say no!

Birthday Dinner: House Dublin

I've been dying to try House Dublin for a while now and couldn't think of a better excuse than for my birthday to finally visit. I luckily had the day off and met my friends after work for dinner and cocktails (obviously non-alcoholic for me).

The Brunch Edit: Hatch & Sons

Sat nestled below the Little Museum of Dublin is Hatch & Sons Irish Kitchen. I've walked past this restaurant many a time on my way to work and have always been attracted to their little courtyard and equally appealing menu, so last week on my day off, I went and finally ticked this place off my list.

Linda Bakes: Walnut and Banana Loaf

If you live in the UK you will know that the ‘Great British Bake Off’ is currently being aired on TV and if you have read my 10 facts about me post (here) you will know that I love to bake, I find baking relaxing and something I do when I want some down time, I love following a recipe or tweaking an existing one to make it work for me (read: substitute any missing ingredients with anything I have in the cupboard) and seeing it all come together to make something delicious.

Another year older: 5 things I am excited about

Where has the time gone? I blinked, and now I'm another year older, the grand age of 32 in fact. As each year passes it's easy to dread these momentus occasions, often being told about the tell-tale signs of ageing which seems to be an exhaustive list of grey hairs, aches, mood swings, hot flushes, insomnia, a slowing metabolism, tiredness and less we forget the wrinkles.

The Brunch Edit: Deselby's

I don't tend to walk up as far as Camden street when I am in the city centre but when my friend insisted I try Deselby's for brunch, I didn't need much convincing. Luckily, my willing friend was available one Saturday and I was looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about and I certainly wasn't disappointed.

September is finally here and it's officially my birthday month. For most, the first marks a fresh start whether it be starting a new school, course or job but I always see September as the start of my favourite season, Autumn and unashamedly an excuse to buy a few new items (well it is my birthday month after all) so here's what I have been loving so far...
